Cricket selection rules

Know about a selection problem before you finalise the team.

ClubHub can surface relevant association and club selection checks while selectors work, including player points where configured, without pretending software can replace club judgement.

Decision support

Checks belong beside the selection decision, not in another document.

ClubHub resolves the rules that apply to the competition and season, then presents the relevant result in the selection workflow. Official association rules are centrally managed where ClubHub holds them, while clubs can also manage club-only checks.

  • Team and player points where configured
  • Age and competition requirements
  • Grade movement checks
  • Finals qualification
  • Availability and player clashes
  • Club-specific checks and recorded exceptions

ClubHub checks what it can. Your club still makes the decision.

A warning, points breach or eligibility issue is not silently turned into a selection decision. Where a club is permitted to proceed with an acknowledgement or exception, ClubHub records that decision rather than pretending the underlying rule disappeared.

Association rules

Central and versioned

Published association rule packs are kept as historical versions so a finalised team's recorded rule context does not change later when a new version is published.

Club controls

Turn checks on or off deliberately

Club Admins can see the rules ClubHub holds, decide which supported checks are active for their club and add club-only requirements where appropriate.

Team points

See the live total while you select

Where a competition uses a points policy, ClubHub shows the authoritative team total, cap and player breakdown rather than making the selector calculate it manually.
